I am so sad to hear about Ron's passing. He was my college roommate one semester at SDSU. One memory stands out. Ron, myself, and a few friends were at a party on the upper deck of the Coronado ferry on one it's last runs before the Bridge was inaugurated in 1969, For some reason, Jeff Walgren, Ron, and I decided to jump off the upper deck as the ferry was docking. We emptied our pockets, removed our belts & shirts and handed them off. Jeff and I were daring each other to go for it while Ron was watching from behind. Suddendly Jeff jumped. I reluctantly followed. We found out later that Ron was being held back by security guards, but he broke loose, took off and jumped without looking at how far the ferry had entered the dock. I remember surfacing just in time to see Ron barely miss the wooden pilings as he plunged into the water. We swam to the shore and couldn't stop laughing. Ah, the craziness of youth. Thanks for the memories, Ron. R.I.P.
